Overview

I am a self-taught artist and have enjoyed drawing since an early age. The practice of Realism has taught me the value of clear-sightedness, how to see things as they are, and not so much as I am, which in turn allows me to render ideas with great clarity and focus.

Relaxing and trusting in the process is something I'm still practising to this day with my design work. In that respect, art continues to play a major role in the development of my design skills. Because more often than not, designing requires visualising, then rendering, with the intent of evoking positive emotional responses to composition, form, subject and colour — these I believe are some of the fundamental underpinnings of modern-day Visual Design.
